Flers-Courcelette World War One

September, 1916: General Sir Henry Rawlinson with 12 divisions and 49 tanks, attacked the German position. After just three days the British had captured 2km of German territory.

Due to the tanks broking down in large numbers, the British were unable to maintain their gains. The offensive at Flers-Courcelette came to an end.
