THE PERSECUTION OF THE KNIGHTS TEMPLAR
On Friday 13 October 1307 the catholic church struck.
The Knights Templar were seized, imprisoned, interrogated, tortured, burned and murdered.
Witnesses were paid money and threatened to make false statements against the Templar.
Many of these statements were bizarre in the extreme.
De Molay arranged for the Templar treasure to be shipped to Scotland.
The remaining assets of the Templar were confiscated and given to the Hospitallers of St John.
Many history books say the Knights Templar disappeared in the 1300's.
However this is not correct.
