BOBBY FISCHER BIOGRAPHY

Bobby Fischer was born: March 9, 1943, in Chicago. Fischer became the youngest international Grandmaster in the history of chess at that time.

Bobby had learned the game of chess from an instruction booklet. At only 7 years old, Bobby joined the Brooklyn Chess Club. At 13, Fischer won the U.S. Junior Championship. At 14, he won the U.S. Championship proper.

Fischer held the world championship from 1972-75.
