Sophie Helen Rhys-Jones was born on January 20, 1965 at the Nuffield Maternity Home in Oxford.
Her parents names are Christopher and Mary and she has a brother David.
Her middle name Helen was the name of her fathers sister who was tragically killed in a riding accident more than ten years before she was born.
Shortly after she was born her family moved to Brenchley.
Sophie's father worked as an overseas representative for a car manufacturer.
Sophie attended Dulwich College Preparatory School in Cranbrook.
After Dulwich Sophie went to Kent College For Girls at Pembury.
After finishing school Sophie enrolled in a two year secretarial course at the West Kent College of Further Education in Tonbridge.
The wedding dress of Sophie was designed by Samantha Shaw.
It was made of hand dyed silk organza and hand dyed silk crepe.
It was full length with long sleeves.
There was a total of 325,000 cut glass and pearl beads sewn on the dress.
Sophie also wore a black and white pearl necklace, interspersed with white gold rondels and black and white pearl drop earings.
Sophie also wore a diamond tiara from the Queens private collection.
She carried a small shower bouquet of blown ivory garden roses, scented stephanotis, clustered lily of the valley and ivory freesia.
