Pietro Yanturni was born in Calabria in 1890.

Yanturni was an authority on shoes, and worked as the curator of the shoe collection at the Cluny Museum in Paris.

His shoes were made for rich women only.

He demanded a deposit of $1,000, an enermous amount of money at the time.

A pair of his shoes took about two years before delivery.
