SHIBA INU

The Shiba Inu is one of the oldest breeds of Japanese dogs. It is also the ancestor of most breeds of Japanese dogs.

Shiba remains have been found with human skeletons in ancient caves in Japan from as long ago as 3,000 years BC.

For many years the Shiba was used in Japan as a halting dog for small game and birds. These days it makes an excellant family pet.

The Shiba Inu also makes a good watchdog but not gaurddog. They also tend to be very catlike in nature.
