King Edward 1V was born Rouen, April 28, 1442.
Edward was the second son of Richard Plantagenet, 3rd Duke of York and Cecily Neville.
He was the eldest of the four sons who survived to adulthood.
Ascended the Throne : March 4, 1461.
Coronation : Westminster Abbey, June 28, 1461.
Married : Elizabeth, Daughter of Richard Woodville.
Children : Three sons, Seven daughters and four illegitimate children.
King Edward 1V died Westminster Abbey, April 9, 1483.
King Edward 1V was buried St. Georges Chapel, Windsor.
Edward was one of the few Monarchs who actually married for love.
An extremely capable and daring military commander, Edward destroyed the House of Lancaster in a series of spectacular military victories; he was never defeated on the field of battle.
Despite his occasional political setbacks, Edward was a popular and very able king.
