The Seventh-day Adventist Church originated the Millerite movement in the United States during the middle part of the 19th century.
The Millerite movement was part of the wave of revivalism known as the Second Great Awakening.
It had originated with William Miller.
It may be said that the Seventh-day Adventist Church birthplace was in 1844, in the township of Washington, New Hampshire.
Eventually, in May 1863, a formally organized church called the Seventh-day Adventist Church was founded.
These days, the Church has more then 11 million baptized members.
They run numerous hospitals, health clinics, post-secondary institutions, secondary schools and kindergartens.
