Theodore Roosevelt Biography

Twenty-sixth President of the United States.

Served as President: 1901 to 1909.

Born: New York City in 1858.

Both his Mother and his first wife, Alice Lee Roosevelt, died on the same day.

Later, he married Edith Carow in 1886.

Served as Governor.

AS President, Roosevelt ensured the construction of the Panama Canal.

Won the Nobel Peace Prize for mediating the Russo-Japanese War.

Later, on the campaige trail in Milwaukee, he was shot. Roosevelt soon recovered.

Died: January 6, 1919, Oyster Bay, New York.
