HUCUL PONY

The Hucul/Carpathian is a breed of draft horse, originally from the Carpathian Mountains. This heavy horse possess great endurance and hardiness.

Use : Harness, pack.

Height : 12.1 - 13 hh.

Colours : Dun, piebald, bay, skewbald.

Identifying Features : Short blunt head, short neck, flat withers, upright shoulders, compact body, short legs, sound feet.

Native of the Carpathian Mountains of Poland.

Renowned for it`s ability to carry heavy loads. The Hucul is arguably the most direct descendant of the Eurasian wild horse Tarpan (now extinct). It is named after the small ethnic group of Hutsuls.
