But let there be no scales to weigh your unknown treasure;
Kahlil Gibran
I see the many faces
Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of life's longing for itself.
They come through you but are not from you, and though they are with you
yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts.
For they have their own thoughts.
you may house their bodies but not their souls, for their souls dwell in
the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in you dreams.
You may strive to be like them but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes backward nor tarries with yesterday.
you are the bows form which your children as living arrows are sent
forth.

What The Willow Whispered to Me
When the willow whispered to me, he asked how all this was meant to be,
He whispered sweet words of truth which no one speaks here, And he whispered
softly a song which was music to my ears. He sang about the trees and the
flowers and the bees, he sang about the stars, the moon, and the seas. But
he said some words that make so much more sense now he said live your life
happily but make sure you know how. That's what the willow whispered to me
on that windy day so softly....
And seek not the depth of your knowledge with staff or sounding line.
For self is a sea boundless and measureless.
Say not, "I have found the truth," but
rather, "I have found a truth."
Say not, "I have found the path of the soul."
Say rather, "I have met the soul walking upon my path."
for the soul walks upon all paths.
I have worn.
on the many paths I've trod.
I look now Father at all the pretending
I have done
and smile for how silly I have been.
for I know now
we are all your children
Holy Ones it's true.
so why I ask
Do we pretend
we are what we are NOT.
When all we are
is all there IS
and we go on forever.
We are free to dream
as many dreams
whatever they may be.
But no amount of dreaming
has any power
to change our reality
and where we rest forever.

where friendship flourishes.
I imagine a special place
where life is special too.
Someone imagined
this special place just for you.
It's the place that God made
'cause he imagined it too.
It's a place God made
to show his care for you.
Take a deep breath.
Imagine the rest,
'cause Earth is waiting for you....Poem by Jennifer Thielen.
