PEKINGESE

The Pekingese were the royal dogs of China. They were considered sacred animals and were bred and carefully guarded in the Imperial Palace.

Only those within the royal circle were permitted to own a Pekingese. Theft of a Pekingese dog was punishable by death.

The Pekingese is a very stubborn dog and takes on a cat like attitude.

The Pekes luxuriant coat also requires frequent brushing.
