DORIS DAY BIOGRAPHY

Doris Day, born Doris von Kappelhoff, was born on April 3, 1924 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

During her early career, Doris sang with Bob Crosby and Les Brown. Her Films included: Romance on the High Seas, Calamity Jane, Young at Heart and The Pajama Game. Doris was nominated for an Academy Award for "Pillow Talk" (1959).

In 1974, Day won a court case against her previous lawyer and was awarded $22 million. Doris Day was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
