His parents were legendary comedians Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara.

Graduated from the Calhoun School in New York in 1983, he enrolled as a film student at the University of California, Los Angeles. Worked for several years in the theater.

Ben Stiller appeared on "Saturday Night Live" in 1989.

Appeared in Steven Spielberg's Empire of the Sun (1987).

Ben Stiller movies include Mystery Men (1999), Keeping the Faith (2000) and Meet the Parents (2000). For his work in The Ben Stiller Show, he was awarded an Emmy Award for "Outstanding Individual Achievement in Writing in a Variety or Music Program.
