Bamiyan Buddha Statue
The Bamiyan Afghanistan Buddhas stood 53 meters, and 34.5 meters tall.
The statues were carved into the side of the mountains during the 4th or 5th century A.D.
Once originally covered with a mixture of mud and straw.
The statues were destroyed in March 2001.
