MENS REPRODUCTIVE ORGANS

Zinc supplements have been shown to increase the male sex hormone testosterone. Zinc further acts to prevent enlargement of the prostrate gland which affects about 50% of men over 50 years old.

Zinc is probably the most important mineral for the male reproductive system. One cause of impotency in men is hardening of the arteries which supply blood to erectile tissue.

It is also recommened that a supplementation of omega-3 oil, vitamins C and E may be of help to ensure an unrestricted flow of blood to all tissues of the body including penile tissue.

POT SMOKING DECREASES FERTILITY :

Researchers are just now releasing the results of studies that prodigious pot smokers have known for decades: marijuana use decreases the viability of sperm structure and compromises fertility in both males and females. A study presented at the annual meeting of the American Society for Cell Biology, says that a cellular signaling system responds to the ingredient in pot that is responsible for the feeling of euphoria and that it may also regulate sperm functions. "These findings suggest that defects in the cannabinoid receptor-signaling system could account for certain types of infertility," said Herbert Schuel, University of Buffalo professor of anatomy and cell biology and the lead author of the study.
