We were on a wonderful trip in Maui, Hawaii. I was on Spring Break from
classes and he took the time off from work. We had this wonderful condo
that overlooked the ocean. We were sitting out on the balcony just
soaking in the moonlight and the sounds and smells. Then he started
telling me how much he loved me and how he couldn't live without me and
then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, holding up the
ring. Of course I said yes! We are getting married in 3 weeks and I am
so excited to be his wife! All I can say, is nothing beats moonlight in
Maui!....Lori.
My husband's proposal was also very simple, but the best moment in MY life. It was Valentine's Day, 1998 and he popped the question shortly after we woke up that morning. (made me close my eyes and everything). I was so shocked and I got pretty emotional. We got married this past August and I'm the happiest person in the world.

We went to Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales, FL. We were standing near the moat around the tower watching the swans. There were butterflies fluttering and azaleas blossoming everywhere. He asked if I'd "be his wife" and I said "Of course, I will" and the rest is storybook history.

We had just finished the most wonderful picnic and were laying on the grass under this really tall pine tree, and I was thinking how much in love I was and how I wanted this feeling to go on forever, when out of the blue he proposed , and from that time forth the feeling has gone on forever........ Im so happy and so in love.....

Matt and I were on the way to an opera.
"Fedora" to exact.
He plays in the orchestra so he was dressed in his tux and I was coming to watch so I was dressed nice as well. He kept asking me again and again how he looked.
Each time I told him that he looked handsome or great or some other nice thing. Then finally I asked him how "I" looked. He looked at me, wrinkled his nose a little, and said, "Not too good." I was in shock! He told me that I was missing something. I pointed out that I was wearing the watch he gave me, and then out popped that little gray, velvet box with my beautiful engagement ring sitting very nicely inside.
He put the ring on my finger and asked me to marry him.
Since we had already decided that we wanted to get married, I joked with him and said, "Do I have a choice?" He didn't really see the humor in my remark and told me that I had ruined it. I told him to do it again...he did, and I responded, "Hell Yeah!"
THE END Kristy
He and I had been shopping for rings, so I knew it was coming. I just didn't know when, and I was trying hard to be patient... It was Christmas Eve, and he took me into the living room where the tree was set up, and my Bing Crosby "White Christmas" was on the CD. He knelt down in front of the tree and gave a little speech about how much he loved me and wanted me to be his wife, and to be my husband, and the father to my daughter, and would I do him that honor.
Coming from a self-admittedly, romantically-challenged cowboy, I think he did a wonderful job, as I will NEVER forget that moment...

The first mention of marriage was two months after we met, though we'd both known for a while...we had a mushy morning together, and both said "i want to spend the rest of my life with you..." he said "what does that mean" and i said "i think it means you have to marry me..." we were down in DC for new years, and on the way back at dinner we had a long conversation about the wedding, who would be in the wedding party, where to have it, etc., and getting back into the car, i said "do yuo know what we were just doing? planning our wedding." he said "yeah! isn't that cool?" and i started to hyperventilate...
we decided to wait on telling our parents for a few months, and went up to visit my folks to tell them - he really wanted to ask for their blessing *grin* we told them, they were thrilled, two days later we had a site, a date, a reception site, an officiant, a caterer! GO MOM! we told his parents the next weekend, and they were also thrilled! that was in march...
we had been talking about rings (minor rant, as soon as you tell someone you're getting married, they look at your left ring finger!). it was not all that important to me to have A RING, but it was really important to him (he's a bit more socially conservative than i...) and i didn't want to be involved in the shopping - for me, i just wasn't comfortable. John knows me well, knows my tastes, i totally trusted him and knew whatever it was would be beautiful! we were out visiting his folks in westen mass, went for a walk in the woods behind his house, were sitting on a bench by a pond with frogs doing their thing in the background...
we started getting a bit mushy, and then he got down on one knee - i got so emotional and excited i started to cry and couldn't hear a word he said except for the "will you do me the honor of becoming my wife" (mind you, i'd already said yes, wedding planning was well underway, so i don't know why it hit me so emotionally!), he put the ring on my finger, and i just hugged him, bawling...finally he said "umm, did you want to look at the ring?" it's completely gorgeous and i LOVE it...

We went to get icecream and we were just sitting around and talking about stuff, when he turned to me and said "I love you", and got down on his knee and I started to cry so I don't really remember what he said.
But a few minutes
later he said "Aren't you going to answer me???" so of course I said yes.
And then a few minutes more passed of us huggin and me crying when he said "Don't you even want to see the ring???" So he put the ring on my finger and we immedialtely got on the phone to call our parents...

In April, Michael and I planned a trip to Long Island, New York. We were
to relax in Montauk and visit the Montauk Lighthouse. Michael soon informed
me that our trip would be cut short due to a business conference he had to
attend in San Diego, California. We decided to continue the vacation and
fly from New York to California on April 12, 2000. Michael suggested we aw
ake early and watch the sunrise at the lighthouse before we began our
travels. Being on the eastern most tip of the island and watching the sunrise
behind Montauk Lighthouse was breathtaking.
We arrived in San Diego shortly after four o’clock. Michael wanted
to first visit Point Loma Lighthouse with me since he would be busy with
his conference the following day. We rented a car and drove straight to
Point Loma. The view at Point Loma Lighthouse was amazing. We took photos of
the lighthouse, watch the boats sail into the San Diego Harbor and as we
walked to a lookout point, I noticed the sun was setting on the Pacific Ocean
.. At that moment, Michael got down on his knee and proposed. He then conf
essed there was no business conference to attend. He simply wanted to take
me from the sun rising on the East Coast to the sun setting on the West
Coast and ask me to be his wife. Michael always knew I had a fondness for
lighthouses but, I never imagined he would go to such great distances to
incorporate two beautiful lighthouses (on opposite sides of the country) into
our engagement day....
Thank you,
Melinda Morris.
My honey popped the question over dinner on the beach. I thought
something was wrong with him but I guess he was just nervous lol. The
whole way to dinner he squeezed my hand and looked like he was going to
be ill. It was so cute! After we ate we went to the water and it was so
cold! He started to tell me a long speech but messed up and was
shaking!! lol Then he just blurted will you marry me? I cried and then
said Yes he then let out a sigh of relief ! That was the best day of my
life....Brittney.
