We ate our cake -- which was actually very good after a year in the freezer -- exchanged cards, and then went to choir rehearsal.
So far we've never done a special trip or anything for our anniversary (we've celebrated three) but do make an effort to have dinner together -- not something we always do on weeknights! -- and mark the occasion with just the two of us.
I know some couples who make a ritual of looking at their wedding photo album or viewing their video on each anniversary, or perhaps drinking champagne out of their wedding toasting flutes. That seems more "special" to me than being under pressure to come up with some really great evening out or weekend away.......Danni.
I graduated from college on our 1st anniversary, but we went out to dinner at the restaurant we had our rehearsal dinner at.
It is on a lake and serves very good seafood. We are about to celebrate our 3rd anniversary, and we will go there again, for the 4th time now.
We didn't go anywhere because that just wasn't feasible, but we plan to go somewhere for some future anniversary (like our 5th).......Kylie.
We went to Disneyland!! ;o) We were planning to do the dinner/dancing/champagne and anniversary cake thing, but then we decided that is was our daughter's anniversary, too, since it was the anniversary of us becoming a family, too. We spent two nights at a nice hotel, dined with Tigger, Winnie the Pooh, Goofy, and Eeyore for our anniversary, ate a (symbolic) piece of cake together, and had a nice glass of bubbly together after dd was asleep in her bedroom, (we had a suite.) It was perfect for us! (We are all BIG Disney fans.)
Traditionally, the couple usually shares some wedding cake, (fresh, not frozen...but that is another thread, entirely,) some champagne saved from their wedding reception, and whatever else they enjoy......Judy.
