The Leonberger originates from Leonberg a town on the outskirts of Stuttgart in southern Germany.
It was bred by Heinrich Essig (1809-1889).
Leonbergers are a very loyal dog.
Those are even tempered and are great with children.
The Leonberger gets on well with other dogs and has a strong fondness of water.
They also have a tendency to lean against their loved ones.
The Leonberger makes an excellent watchdog.
They are around 26 to 31 inches in height and weigh around 110 to 150 pounds.
