THIRTY PIECES OF SILVER

Judas was very antagonistic towards Jesus. He opposed the claim of Jesus to the High Priesthood and his opposition to ritual law.

Judas therefore went to Jonathan Annas. He then offered to betray Jesus for thirty pieces of silver.

This would mean that the two Hellinists would unite. Judus would become his levite. As levite in this position Judas would recieve the tithes of the village, which was represented by thirty pieces of silver. This is the number representing the village form of organization.
