EDMUND CARTWRIGHT BIOGRAPHY

Edmund Cartwright was born in 1743, in Marnham, Nottingham, England.

Cartwright was an Anglican Clerhyman who in 1787, had invented a water powered "loom". Edmund made further advances to his Loom, eventually converting it to steam power.

In 1789, Cartwright also invented a "wool-combing machine" that did the work of twenty people. Edmund Cartwright died October 30, 1823.
