The Lusitano is an ancient Portuguese breed of horse.

Use : Riding, bullfighting.

Height : 15 - 16 hh.

Colours : Usually grey but also all solid colours.

Identifying Features : Small head, straight profile, short thick neck, compact body, short back, sloping quarters, long legs.

Once used as a cavalry horse.

The Lusitano horse is extremely proficient at the high levels of dressage.

These days the favoured mount of the Portuguese Bullfighter.
