MURAKOZ HORSE

The Murakoz Horse is used as a Draught horse. The Murakozi is a medium-sized draft horse with a kind temperament, strength and a willingness to work. It was developed in south Hungary.

The Murakozi, Hungary's heavy draft horse, was developed as a breed at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century on the farms around the Mura River. The foundation stock was native Hungarian mares (known as Mir-Insulan), Ardennes, Percherons, Norikers (from Austria), and some Hungarian half-bred stallions. Height : 15 - 16 hh.

Colours : Chestnut with flaxen mane and tail, also brown, grey, black, bay.

Identifying Features : Alert head, defined withers, sloping shoulders, good depth of girth, muscular legs, low set tail.
