LITHUANIAN HORSE

The Lithuanian Horse was used as a Heavy draught horse. The Lithuanian Heavy Draught is a working horse breed created in Lithuania during the 19th and 20th centuries.

Height : 14.3 - 15 hh.

Colours : Chestnut with flaxen mane and tail.

Identifying Features : Heavy head, compact powerful body, strong legs, some feathering, large feet.

The formal definition of this Lithuanian draught horse was undertaken by the Society for Breeding Work and Driving Horses in 1894. Registered as a breed in 1963.

Great strength, but poor action.
