The Breton Horse is used as a Draught horse. The Breton originates from a province called Bretagne in northwest France.

Height : 14.3 - 16.3 hh.

Colours : Bay, grey, chestnut, red, roan blue.

Identifying Features : Large head, straight profile, short bulky neck, compact stocky body, broad square quarters, short strong legs, small hard feet.

There are only two surviving types of the original seven types. In the Middle Ages, the Breton horse was sought by military leaders, partly because of its comfortable gait.
