Laser Hair Removal has become one of the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatments in the world. It was from about the 1970`s that laser hair removal was performed experimentally. It only become commercially available during the 1990s.

There are some light-based epilators that use a xenon flash lamp which emits full-spectrum intense pulsed light. Although this has been called laser hair removal, it is actually not a laser per se.

The principle behind laser hair removal is selective photothermolysis.
Lasers are able to cause localized damage by selectively heating dark target matter in the area that causes hair growth while at the same time, not heating the rest of the skin. Laser energy is absorbed via the dark material in the skin with a higher degree of speed and intensity. This dark target matter, or chromophore, can be naturally-occurring or artificially introduced.



Are You a good candadate for Laser Hair Removal:
Not everyone is suited for laser hair removal. Your hair must be darker than the surrounding skin. There are a number of other requirements and you should check with your health professional first.

Sessions Info:
The number of sessions will depends on individual, the area to be treated and gender. Generally you can expect around three to seven sessions. Some areas may just take a few minutes of treatment of laser hair removal, but other areas can take more then an hour. It is generally recommended you wait of intervals of between 4 to 6 weeks between each laser hair removal treatment.
