An Extra is a term used to describe when a ghost appears on a photo.
This sort of thing use to be very common during the early days of photography, but since then it has been established most were fakes.
However, there has also been photos over the years were no evidence of fraud has been detected.
Some of these photos are currently in the possesion of the University of London.
