Carmen de Tommaso

Carmen de Tommaso was born in Chateauroux, France in 1909. She first studied architecture, but changed to fashion design.

In 1945, Carmen de Tommaso founded her own fashion house in Paris, called "Carven". By 1968, Carven had its own jewellery line and added menswear to its collection.

Carven won the tender to produce uniforms for the air hostesses of Air France in 1974.

The Musee Galleria of the Fashion Mode in Paris held a Retrospective Exhibition of Madame Carven's collections from 2000 to 2002.
