Zandra Rhodes

Zandra Rhodes was born in 1940 in Kent, England. Her mother, who was a fitter in a Paris fashion house.

Rhodes studied at Medway College of Art and the Royal College of Art, London from where Zandra graduated with first class honours and a special design award.

From 1964 to 1967 Rhodes taught at the Royal College of Art. In 1969, Rhodes founded her own fashion salon in West London.

In 1970, Rhodes made the cover of Voigue magazine.

Her clients included Diana, Princess of Wales and Freddie Mercury of Queen. In 1997, Rhodes was made a Commander of the British Empire by the Queen.
