Guy Paulin

Guy Paulin was born in 1945 in Lorraine, France. Paulin had no formal training, but was able to sell some fashion scetches to the Parisian department store Printemps, where he worked as a life operator.

From there, Guy gained a job as design assistant to Jacqueline Jacobson at Dorothée Bis. From there, Paulin gained a job with Paraphernalia in New York.

Paulin founded his own business in 1968 in New York, but closed two years later and returned to Paris. Guy joined up with the Italian Girombelli group and designed for Sportsmax.

In 1983, Paulin succeeded Karl Lagerfeld as director of design at Chloé, but left in 1985.

In 1985, he founded the S.A. Guy Paulin design studio. Guy Paulin passed away June 1990, in Paris.
