John Orry-Kelly was born in 1897 in Australia.
Orry-Kelly wanted to be an actor, so in 1923 he left Australia to live in New York.
John gained a living illustrating titles for the silent films of that time.
From there, Orry-Kelly gained work designing costumes and scenery for Shubert reviews and George White's Scandals.
In 1932, Orry-Kelly moved to Hollywood.
Once there, he soon found a job with Warner Brothers Studio.
Orry-Kelly went on to design for both movies and musicals.
In 1943 he left and started work for 20th Century Fox.
After that, he moved into freelance for other studios.
John Orry Kelly passes away in 1964.
