Bruce Oldfield

Bruce Oldfield was born in 1950 in London, England. Oldfield soent his childhood growing up in an Orphanage.

Bruce studyied fashion at Ravensbourne College of Art in Kent. In 1972, Oldfield started studying at St. Martin's school of Art in London.

After graduation, Bruce became a freelance designer. Oldfield held his first show in 1973 in the US.

In 1978, Bruce started making couture clothes for individual clients, including Princess Diana.

In 1984, Oldfield opened his Beauchamp Place shop. In 1985, fashion writer Suzy Menkes, selected Oldfield`s design as, Dress of the Year.

In 1990, Bruce Oldfield was awarded the OBE for services to fashion and industry. In 2004, he published his autobiography "Rootless".
