Thierry Mugler was born in 1948, in Strasbourg, France.
Mugler studied design before moving to Paris in 1970, where he worked as a window-dresser.
Thierry founded his womens label in 1974.
In 1978, he also started designing for men.
He opened his first boutique in Paris in 1978.
In 1983, he opened fhis first factory in Angers.
In 1992, Mugler launched his fragrance for women, "ANGEL", which went on to become one of the biggest selling perfumes in the world.
Clarins took control of the company in 1997.
He published two books, Thierry Mugler (1988) and Fashion Fetish Fantasy (1998).
