Jean Poiret Biography

Jean Poiret was born in Paris, France. At an early age he was apprenticed him to an umbrella maker.

Joined Doucet in 1886.

Later Poiret moved to Worth.

In 1904, he opended his own House. He developed a name with his controversial kimono coat.

Poiret was forced to close his House during W.W.1. During the War Poiret served in the military by streamlining uniform production.

After the war Poiret reopened.

The House finally closed in 1929.
