Jeanne Lanvin Biography

Jeanne Lanvin was born in Brittany, France.

She was an apprentice milliner at Madame Félix in Paris. Later trained at dressmaker Talbot. In 1889, set up as a milliner at 22 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré.

In1909, Lavin joined the Syndicat de la Couture, which marked her formal status as a couturière. By 1914 Lanvin was an established Couturier.

She passed away in 1946. After her death, the House continued.
