Alix Gres Biography

Alix Gres was born in Paris, France.

Learned at Premet.

In 1934, Gres opened her own House under the name of Alix Barton.

The House closed in 1940 due to the war.

After the war, the House reopened as Gres. In 1959, she released her first Perfume, Cabochard. In 1982, she sold her Perfume rights to Beecham. In 1987 the house went bankrupt. She passed away in 1993. Gres had been President of the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne. The Metropolitan Museum in New York, held a major retrospective of the work of Madame Alix Gres.
