Armani originally studied medicine, but was called up for national service in 1957.
Worked at the Milanese department store La Rinacente.
Armani Joined Cerruti in the 1960`s as a designer.
Worked as freelance fashion consultant in the 70`s.
Established his own company in 1975.
Armani created his first women's collection in 1975.
In 2006, he designed the ceremonial Italian flag-bearers' outfits at the 2006 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony in Turin, Italy.
