Daniel Hechter was born July 30, 1938, in Paris, France.
His family owned a ready-to-wear clothing company.
Hechter completed secondary education, then worked in a fashion house.
By 1956, his designs were already popular.
In 1960, he founded the Daniel Hechter Company.
The company went on to produce corporate wear, shoes, sunglasses, school uniforms, household linens, crystal stemware, mens fragrance, tennis and ski clothes.
Hechter retired to Geneva, Switzerland, in 1997.
and his novel Le Boss was published in 2000.
