Bill Gibb was born in 1943 in Fraserburgh, Scotland.
Gibb Studied in Fraserburgh, then at the St. Martin's School of Art, London, then the Royal College of Art, London.
Gibb then went on to work for the prestigious London fashion house, Baccarat.
In 1972, Gibb founded his own design company, then in 1975 he moved into retail opening a shop in London's Bond Street

In 1977 a ten-year retrospective of his clothes was held at the Albert Hall in London.
