Tom Ford was born August 27, 1961 in Texas.
In 1986, Ford graduated from the Parsons School of Design.
Tom went on to design for Cathy Hardwick and Perry Ellis.
But, in 1990, Ford started to design for Gucci.
He went on to become the chief director for Gucci.
Ford is credited with the turnaround of Gucci into the success it is today.
Tom left Gucci in 2004.
Ford was awarded the André Leon Talley Lifetime Achievement Award, from the Savannah College of Art and Design, in 2005.
