Alberta Ferretti

Alberta Ferretti was born in 1950 in Cattolica, Italy. Her mother was a very successful dressmaker.

When Alberta was just 18 years old she opened her own store in Rimini called, Jolly Shop. From here she sold designs from Armani, Versace and others.

By 1974, Ferretti had launched her own label. Ferretti became so successful that in 1998, she was among a group of Italian designers who were invited to a reception for designers and retailers held by Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in London.

Alberta and her brother Massimo, started the manufacturing facility Aeffe in 1980. She presented her debut on the Milan runway in 1981.
