Victor Edelstein

Victor Edelstein was born in 1946 in London. Edelstein early on worked for several companies including Biba, Clifton Slimline, Salvador, and the house of Dior.

In 1978, Edelstein founded his own ready-to-wear business but it failed to prosper. But in 1981, Victor foundede his Couture salon which became a great success.

Edelstein became well known around the world for some of his designs for Diana, Princess of Wales.

In fact, the wax statue of Princess Diana in Madame Tussaud's museum, is wearing a Victor Edelstein dress.

Other famous clients included: the Duchess of Kent, Princess Yasmin Khan and Princess Rupert von Lowenstein. Sad to say, in 1993, Edelstein closed his couture business to focus focusing on painting and drawing. In 1996, Sotheby`s in London at Sotheby's, he had his first exhibition of landscapes, portraits and still lifes which all sold out.
