Randolph Duke was born in Las Vegas in 1958.
At an early age, Duke would do sketches with charcoals and pencils.
He also made up his own designs on the home sewing machine.
Randolph studied for a year at the University of Nevada before he transferred to the Los Angeles Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.
Duke worked as a designer for Jantzen Swimwear for a short while before he was hired by Cole of California.
In 1984 he left Cole and moved to New York where he designed for Gottex.
Duke also opened his own store.
Later on, Duke also designed at the house of Halston.
