Jasper Conran

Jasper Conran was born in London, England in 1959. Conran is the son of the designer Sir Terence Conran and the author Shirley Conran. Educated at Port Regis and Bryanston School. Conran attended and graduated from the Parsons School of Design in New York.

Jasper went to work for the Italian house of Fiorucci as a designer. But he soon returned to London where he designed a womenswear collection for New York department store Henri Bendel. After that, Conran worked as a consultant for the British firm of Wallis.

In 1978, Conran presented his first collection under his own name. By 1985, he had expanded into Menswear. He was named Designer of the Year by the British Council in 1986.

In 2003, Conran was awarded the Prince Medal for Classic Design. Jasper Conran was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2008 New Year Honours.
