Oleg Cassini (born Oleg Loiewski) was born in Paris, France in 1913.
Cassini studied in Florence at the English School and graduated from the Accademia delle Belle Arti in 1932.
For awhile, Oleg worked in his mothers dress salon, before opening his own salon in Rome in 1933.
Cassini moved to New York in 1936 and started to design for various 7th Avenue shops.
In 1940, Oleg joined 20th century Fox in Hollywood as a designer.
By 1950, Cassini was back designing on 7th Avenue.
Oleg also designed extensively for television and musicals.
Cassini was appointed official designer for 1st lady, Jacqueline Kennedy.
Cassini designed more than 300 dresses for her.
In 2003, Cassini was awarded a Special Tribute award from the CFDA.
Oleg passed away in 2006.
