During his carreer as a fashion designer Capucci earned the nikname of "the Givenchy of Rome".

In 1950, Capucci founded his own fashion house.
In 1956, he was awarded the Medal of Gold of Venice.
In 1962, he opened a couture salon in Paris.
Capucci eventually returned to Rome, where he continued work in the fashion industry, before semi-retiring in 1980s.
