Roberta di Camerino (born Giuliana Coen) was born 1920 in Venice, Italy.
During World War Two, Roberta fled to Switzerland where she started making handbags.
After the war, Roberta di Camerino returned to Venice and founded her own business producing leather handbags, belys, scarves, gloves and shoes.
Roberta developed a look that was inspired by when she saw a ray of light reflecting off the waters of the Venetian canals.
She was awarded an International Fashion Oscar from Neiman Marcus.
Roberta di Camerino passed away on 19th March, 2002.
She was often refered to as the high priestess of Italian fashion.
