Marc Bohan

Marc Bohan was born Roger Maurice Louis Bohan on August 22, 1926 in Paris, France. Bohan attended the Lycee Lakanal in Paris, where he obtained a certificate in art and philosophy.

During his early years, Marc Bohan worked for Edward Molyneux, Piguet and Jean Patou. In 1958, Bohan went to work for the house of Dior. He was sent to London as Director of their English operations.

When Yves St. Laurent called up for military duty in 1960, Bohan was recalled to Paris for the position of Chief Designer and artistic Director. Marc Bohan left the house of Dior in 1989.

Marc Bohan then went on to became the fashion director of Norman Hartnell in London in 1990, but left in 1992.
