Bill Blass, born (William Ralph Blass), on June 22, 1922, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He studied at the Parsons School of Design in New York City.
Blass started his fashion career in 1946 in New York.
In 1959, Blass joined Maurice Rentner Ltd.
In 1970, he founded Bill Blass Limited, after buying out, Maurice Rentner Ltd.
His designs were popular with former First Lady, Nancy Reagan.
In 1999, Blass sold his company.
In 1999, Blass won the Fashion Institute of Technology's Lifetime Achievement Award.
Bill Blass died New Preston, June 12, 2002.
