Boris Yeltsin was born February 1, 1931, in Yekaterinburg (then Sverdlovsk), Russia.
Boris worked in Sverdlovsk construction from 1955 to 1968.
Then in 1968, Yeltsin started working full time for the Communist Party.
By 1985, Yeltsin had become the Moscow party chief.
In 1986, Boris joined the Politburo.
In 1989, Yeltsin gained a seat in the Soviet parliament.
When President Gorbachev resigned, and with the collapse of the U.S.S.R. , Yeltsin became the elected leader of Russia.
In June of 1996, Boris suffered a heart attack.
Boris Yeltsin resigned on December 31, 1999.
